5 MUST have iphone apps

Since companies like Apple, Nokia, Microsoft and even Google have developed smart phones software; there’s been an increase in mobile applications. There’s an app for cooking, reading, shopping, painting and the list goes on. Now virtually there is any app for almost anything you can think off. Mobile application is changing the way we live our busy life having all the power under our fingers and keeping up-to-date where ever we are.

In this article I will list the five MUST have iphone applications. The list is purely based on what I consider to be the five must have app, however you can comment and add to the list.

01. London Tube Deluxe

Are you someone who travels on the train on a regular basic? If yes, do you get annoyed and fuming when you reach the station and find out that there is a major delay or technical fault in the line you are going to travel on? Well why not plan and stay up-to-date with the London tube deluxe iphone app.

London Tube Deluxe

London Tube Deluxe

London Tube Deluxe maximises the effectiveness of the iphone portability – allowing you to retrieve underground maps, timetables and status updates. You can also locate the closest tube station using GPS, making planning journeys on the move easy.

Using London Tube Deluxe is highly intuitive. You can select stations on the map itself, allowing for a clear and simple view of any journey. Unlike its competitors, Tube Deluxe also displays each stations departure boards, meaning you can narrow down your plans to the exact minute. The app synchronises with TFLs official network, making status updates as accurate as possible. Useful for those that keep more irregular hours, there are also separate updates on the first and last trains running. You can even see which station your train is currently at and how many minutes it will take for it to reach you.

Before I leave my house I always make use of this app and find out what’s happening in the London underground tube, and if  there is any delays I quickly plan an alternative route to reach my destination.

At £0.59, London Tube deluxe is a bargain – even if you only intend to use the some of its features. It’s an excellent investment for any iphone owner based in London.

02. Qik Live

Qik Live is one of the best iphone app I have used. It turns your iphone 1G, 3G or 3GS into a

live video streaming camera. This means you can stream live video using your iphone from where ever you are. The best thing about Qik is that your friends or relatives can see your stream live via the Qik website, cool! You would need to register on Qik’s website and download the app for FREE. The camera quality is pretty good too.

If your friends have missed your live stream, tell them not to worry because they can see the whole video offline as Qik will automatically save the video under your account allowing you to view when ever.

03. Photoshop

Taking pictures will never be the same on iphone. Adobe has released their mobile version of Photoshop, which comes with limited and powerful features such as crop, blur and artistic effects.

Using your finger, you would be able to touch up, crop, rotate and flip their photos as well as adjust colour, saturation, tint, exposure and vibrancy, and convert them to black and white.

The app also offers a Sketch tool that promises to help photos look like drawings, and Soft Focus can give photos a subtle blur for artistic effect.

Who said you need a powerful computer to edit pictures! And the best thing about this app…It’s FREE!

04. PDF reader pro

PDF Reader Pro can assist not only in uploading your desire PDF files to your iphone through WiFi, but doing the file directory management. 05. Quickoffice

Quickoffice for iphone is a very complete and easy-to-use suite of applications. For £4.99, you’re getting three apps in one — a “mobile drive” and file transfer app, an outstanding word processing app with cut and paste capabilities, and a full-featured spreadsheet. That’s not to say that all three of the functions can’t be improved — the lack of a spell checker and auto-completion of words in the Quickword component are a prime example — but for a first release, Quickoffice shows a surprising amount of capability and stability.

If you’re thinking about buying one app for your iphone to fulfil your handheld office needs, Quickoffice is the one to purchase.

Like I said there is an app for almost anything you can search the app database on iphone to browse the app your are looking for. Below is a list of some recommended apps to download.
